I'm back! 'Tis a good sign to be blogging two days in a row, don't you think? We'll see if the trend continues!
Thanks for the blog comment love! I wasn't sure this space on the web got visits anymore, after my lack of consistency. So it was nice to be welcomed back! I haven't gotten that many comments in ages. Thanks friends!
So ya. For today's post I wanted to show you the rest of that picture I shared yesterday. With a cropped view of the eye and edited to B&W, it is kinda flattering. (At least I thought so.)
Well, here is the original. Me with all my lines, wrinkles and roots.
And tongue out! :P (I think this was an phone pic I sent to the kids via Daddy's phone.)
You couldn't see all that in the other picture.
To me this is so much like blogging. I can choose to share just the good. Pick the photos I like. Crop out the mess. Blog the good times where I look like a great mom. Or an awesome wife. Or fantastic cook and domestic goddess. Or a health whiz. Or a holy, super spiritual Christian.
And yet, so much of the time it is not like that. At all.
Blogging and social media like Facebook are weird that way, as we can portray ourselves however we want to. Which might be part of what was stopping me from blogging much these past months.
What do I want to put out there? And why do I want to put it out there? How will it be perceived? Will I be judged? Do I care?
The answer to the last question is yes. I do. Even at 38 (and a half) I do. Less that at 28. Or 18. But yes, I do.
And yet I still want to be honest and real. Share some of the good stuff I am pleased with, or working on. But also share the struggles. And the bad days. And the stuff I'm still working on and battling.
So there you have it. I just want to be okay being me. Okay with however that ends up coming out on this little old blog of mine.
And be okay with however you take that.
(Light and fluffy picture post of my beautiful kids tomorrow, I promise! :P )

I hear too many of my friends worry about being judged. That's not our job as friends! Share as you please. I'm the kind of person who asks questions to better understand how my friend came to certain conclusions, or what in their life led them to do things a certain way, but it's only an effort to understand the person better, never to say that my way of thinking or doing is better. Write as you please, I'm happy to read it, and to get to know your heart and your kids and your worldview more.
Thanks Rachel! I'm not sure what it was that made me all of a sudden get self conscious about blogging and being judged, but for some reason I did. I appreciate your thoughts here and am glad to have this blog friendship with some awesome ladies who I respect and would otherwise not know very well. I enjoy reading your blog as well! :)
We're all on a journey through life, and I think there is great value in sharing that journey together! :)
